Icom M34 Waterproof Handheld VHF Radio Black World's First VHF Marine Transceiver That...
Finally, a radio that floats! Icom's new M34 is a full-function, rugged marine VHF handheld that, if dropped overboard, will rise back to the water's surface. It may be the last handheld marine radio a boater will ever need to buy! Unlike all other Icom marine radios to-date, this is the Icom's first handheld radio that does not feature a one-piece aluminum chassis. Inside and out, the M34 is constructed of durable, hi-strength polymers. The M34 holds all the great features every Icom radio is known for, plus a few important new ones. One of those new features is a "Favorites" feature. Simply put, "Favorites" allows the radio user to quickly isolate those channels that are used most, eliminating the scrolling through dozens of channels - similar in concept to a TV remote that's been programmed to ignore unwanted channels. Other features include: High-resolution LCD display; Large, well spaced keys for easy, one-handed operation; Hourglass shape that lends itself to a form-fit grasp; 5 full watts of power with lower power selectable; Multiple scanning modes; Submersible IPX7 construction. Powering the M34 is a new Li-Ion battery, allowing for an impressive power-to-weight ratio. A boater can expect nearly 10 hours of typical use on a single charge. (5% transmit/5% receive/90% standby.) The M34 is an affordably priced radio that believes that and acts like it is a high-priced radio. The M34 comes complete with the Li-ion battery pack, charger, and AC adaptor. Other accessories are available including a newly designed waterproof speaker microphone (HM-165), rapid charger, and AAA alkaline battery tray.
