They are made of recycled foam, which has a combination of weight and porosity that both insulates and absorbs. QL sound absorbent panels meet the fire safety requirements for CE marking. The insulation material is protected by an oil-resistant film that is easy to clean. The foam plastic is impregnated to make it self-extinguishing, and to withstand a maximum temperature of 200 C.

The insulation is sold in self adhesive rectangular panels, 20"x 40", which are easy to apply. They are available in three thicknesses, 3/4", 1-1/5" and 2", and can easily be cut to shape with a sharp knife. Insulation Hangars are available for horizontal installation and for those installations where a more secure installation is desired. It is important to fit the panels tightly together, using adhesive tape to seal the joints to prevent noise leakage, or penetration of water, which could be absorbed by the material.
